Geek and science comedy a specialty
Welcome to the internest of Ben McKenzie, Melbourne-based actor, comedian, writer, feminist, improviser, voiceover artist, presenter, game mechanic, scientician, rogue nerd and ginger..
‘Geek comedy’s patron saint’ (T-Squat magazine), Ben writes and performs comedy science lectures as the Man in the Lab Coat (though he doesn’t usually wear the coat these days), co-hosts the hit live Doctor Who podcast Splendid Chaps, and runs the monthly improvised Dungeons & Dragons inspired comedy show Dungeon Crawl. It should come as no surprise that Ben loves games; he is co-founder of new games company Pop Up Playground, where his games include Spy Catcher, The Curse, The Whispering Society and The Focal Point, and worked as Production Manager for the 2012 Freeplay Independent Games Festival. He has also appeared on the Boxcutters television podcast as resident fact checker.
His favourite dinosaur is Stegosaurus.
Here on the site you can find details of Ben’s appearances, along with blog posts featuring his musings on life, the Universe and everything. (Yeah, he loves Douglas Adams as well.)
